Why are outdoor sessions offered late in the day or early in the morning?

Sessions are scheduled at times of the day when the light is softest. This is typically about 1-2 hours after sunrise and 1-2 hours before sunset. Harsh midday light creates dark shadows, uneven light and squinty eyes. While there may be a few locations that can be shot midday, it is typically a location with buildings, structures and trees to provide open shade and typically only offer for older children and adults as they will pose in a location and not run off into poor lighting. Time of day is a very important consideration especially if subjects have light colored eyes as the brightness of the midday sun will make for squinty photos. I want the best results for your portrait session and highly recommend that you make accommodations to make the suggested time(s) work for your session.

What happens if it rains?

If inclement weather is in the forecast, I will reach out to you to discuss options.

Typically outdoor sessions are rescheduled as needed for inclement weather.

Can I bring my dog?

For outdoor sessions, please make sure the location allows dogs. If it works with the location, I’d be happy to capture your dog in your session.

I highly recommend bringing someone along as your “dog handler” to assist.

For studio sessions, please email as we limit availability for this due to allergies and extra cleaning time.

There is an extra fee of $25 per dog.

Do you provide props?

We have a large selection of props at the studio.

However, if there is something specific (theme, prop, etc…) you’d like, it is best to chat about your vision ahead of time.

If your session is on location, please give me a “heads up” so I can make sure to bring the prop with me.

I have pre booked my newborn now what? What if my baby comes early or late?

I ask that all clients email or call within 24-48 hours of having your baby. Most babies are booked anywhere from 8-10 or even 12 or 14 days depending on the baby's weight. Letting me know when you have your baby early enough allows rooms for re scheduling and adjusting.

Do you have clothing for newborns and props?

Yes, I have a variety of newborn outfits, hats, headbands, wraps and many props! You really do not need to bring anything.

For special requests, please let me know ahead of time.

My baby has acne, do you retouch?

Yes, basic skin retouching is included. For extra retouching & extensive edits (head swaps, etc) extra charges may apply.

I missed the newborn window and my baby is now 2 months old, do you take them?

I photograph babies of any age. Your baby is no longer a newborn however you can still book a session.

Please understand the baby most likely will not be able to do newborn poses or wraps and they are usually awake.

Do you do cake smashes for children?

Yes, I do, you bring the cake. Cake smashes are done primarily in the studio. I have a large selection of backdrops/sets at the studio

and I'm happy to work with you to prepare for your theme!

How long does it take to see my photos?

Your proof gallery will be delivered via email 3 weeks after your session.

Do you give Raw images?

No, I do not give Raw images.

Can I have the originals?

I do not give original images.
