Fall Mini Sessions are a great option for families who want updated portraits during one of the most beautiful times of year in the Lehigh Valley. These sessions are offered on select dates at two locations, Albert Ponds Preserve and Lockridge Park, chosen for their beautiful fall scenery and seasonal color.

Each Fall Mini Session is 20 minutes long and moves at a quicker pace while still allowing time for a mix of posed family portraits and a little interaction. These sessions are especially popular with families looking for updated photos for holiday cards, gifts, or simply to capture this season of life.

Because Lehigh Valley Fall Mini Sessions are offered on limited dates and at predetermined locations, they work best for families who are comfortable with a shorter session and don’t need the flexibility of choosing their own date or location.

Fall Mini Sessions include 5 digital images, with the option to purchase additional individual digital images or upgrade to the full gallery after viewing your proofs.

Family Short & Sweet Outdoor Sessions: Quick & Flexible

If you’re looking for a shorter fall session with a little more flexibility, a Family Short & Sweet Outdoor Session may be the perfect fit. These 20-minute weekday sessions are offered at a discounted rate and are a great option for families who want updated portraits without committing to a full session.

Unlike Fall Mini Sessions, which are offered only on select dates at predetermined locations, Short & Sweet Sessions offer more flexibility when choosing your date and location. Several Lehigh Valley locations may be available depending on the date and my schedule.

Even with the shorter timeframe, we’ll work to capture a variety of updated family portraits along with a few natural moments and interactions. These sessions are a great choice for families who want a simple, relaxed way to document their family during the fall season.

Family Short & Sweet Outdoor Sessions include 7 digital images, with the option to purchase additional individual digital images or upgrade to the full gallery after viewing your proofs.

Family Outdoor Sessions: The Full Experience

If you’re looking for more time, flexibility, and variety, a Family Outdoor Session is the most complete fall portrait experience. With up to one hour together, we have plenty of time to create a well-rounded gallery without feeling rushed.

A full session gives us time for a variety of posed family portraits as well as walking shots, interaction, and natural moments together. We can also capture different portrait combinations, including the whole family, siblings, individual children, and each parent with the kids.

You’ll have the freedom to choose your location, and I’m always happy to help you select a setting that fits the look you love. I’ll also guide you on the best timing for your chosen location so we can take advantage of beautiful light and seasonal fall color.

The additional time can be especially helpful for families with young children who may need a little time to warm up, take a break, or simply move at their own pace. It can also be a better choice if you’d like to include your dog, since having extra time allows us to work with both children and pets without trying to fit everything into a 20-minute session.

When is the best time for fall family photos in the Lehigh Valley?

Fall color can vary from year to year depending on weather and temperatures, but October through early November is typically a beautiful time for fall family photos in the Lehigh Valley. Different locations also reach peak color at different times, which is one reason I’m happy to help you choose a location and date based on the look you’re hoping for.

What happens if it rains on the day of our session?

I keep a close eye on the weather as your session approaches. If rain or other weather conditions make it necessary to reschedule, we’ll work together to find another date. For full Family Outdoor Sessions, I often recommend having some flexibility in your schedule during the busy fall season since weather can be unpredictable.

Is a 20-minute fall session long enough for young children?

It can be! Some children do very well with a shorter, fast-paced session, especially if they are comfortable in front of the camera and warm up quickly. Other children need more time to get comfortable, take breaks, or simply move at their own pace.

If you know your child typically needs some time to warm up, or you’d like a larger variety of portraits and family combinations, a full Family Outdoor Session may be the better choice.

Can we bring our dog to our fall family photo session?

Yes! Dogs are welcome at many of the outdoor locations I photograph at. If you have young children and would also like to include your dog, I generally recommend a full Family Outdoor Session. The additional time gives us more flexibility to work with both children and pets without feeling rushed.

What should we wear for fall family photos?

I recommend coordinating rather than matching. Start with two or three complementary colors and build everyone’s outfits around different shades and textures within that palette. Creams, browns, navy, rust, forest green, golden yellow, and other warm neutrals can all photograph beautifully during the fall.
